Lower Body

There’s no such thing as a local injury in the lower extremities. Pain or incorrect biomechanics in the foot, knee, or hip can cause the entire body to be pulled out of alignment. This can create muscle imbalance and pain further up the "kinetic chain" in your body.

At Andersonville Physical Therapy, we evaluate and treat your injured joint and the biomechanics of your entire body. As we rehabilitate your injury, we will also teach you to find your best body alignment. This will help your foot, ankle, knee, and hip function properly, enabling them to provide a stable base when you are standing and a mobile base when you are walking or running.

A strong core creates a stable base, and strong deep hip muscles form a sling that unloads and balances your hip over your foot and knee.  In addition to helping you find healthy joint positions, we teach you to strengthen your deep core and hip muscles. Together, stronger muscles and good alignment allow your joints to absorb shock properly and propel your body forward as you walk.
