Upper Body

You need balanced muscle strength and coordination to maintain normal movement patterns, or biomechanics, in your upper body. Abnormal mechanics can be brought on or aggravated by common activities you perform daily, and this can lead to overuse injuries in the elbow, wrist, hand, and shoulder. In fact, because the shoulder is the only joint in the body that relies on muscles for support, it is particularly susceptible to injuries caused by muscle imbalance.

Andersonville Physical Therapy can help you regain upper extremity movement and strength. We'll work with you to restore hand dexterity, heal painful tennis or golfer's elbow, or rehabilitate an injured shoulder. Our whole-person approach identifies the cause of your pain, treats the injury, and retrains you to avoid reinjury.

Common upper extremity problems that we treat include

  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Biceps tendonitis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Shoulder pain
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome
  • Wrist pain
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Elbow pain
  • Frozen shoulder
