Lower Body

There’s no such thing as a local injury in the lower extremities. An injury or incorrect biomechanics in the legs or feet can cause the rest of the body to move in an unnatural way, which can then lead to pain or discomfort in another part of your body. That's because the complex interactions of the foot, ankle, knee, and hip regions need to function properly in order to provide a stable base for the trunk when you are standing and a mobile base when you are walking and running. Alterations in the mechanics of the foot, knee, or hip can affect function further up the "kinetic chain" in your body.

At Andersonville Physical Therapy, we evaluate and treat the entire lower half of your body to make sure we identify the cause of your symptoms as we treat the painful area.

Common problems that we see include

  • Plantar fascitis
  • Knee pain
  • Bursitis
  • Patellofemoral syndrome
  • Tendonitis
  • Sprains and strains
  • Hip pain
  • Ankle sprains
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
