It is Not Just About Moving Again — It’s About Living More

Physical Therapy for the Hip, Knee, Ankle, and Foot

There’s no such thing as a local injury in the lower extremities. Pain, weakness or incorrect biomechanics in the foot, knee or hip can cause your entire body to be pulled out of alignment. This can create muscle imbalance and pain further up the “kinetic chain” in your body.

At Andersonville Physical Therapy, we evaluate and treat your injured joint and the function (biomechanics) of your entire body. As we rehabilitate your injury, we’ll work with you to find your best alignment so your foot, ankle, knee and hip function optimally.

Strong muscles propel you through life

Using functional exercises and variability of movement, we teach you to strengthen your deep core and hip and leg muscles. We will train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports. We’ll provide guidance for strength and endurance training and sport-specific mechanics as we progress your rehabilitation.

We will help you put your best foot forward

Abnormal foot biomechanics can cause your knee, hip or entire body to be pulled out of alignment. This can create muscle imbalance, joint strain and pain further up the “kinetic chain” in your body. After a thorough foot, lower body and gait evaluation, we identify your foot type and the amount of support your foot needs. We recommend a footwear solution that will work best to keep your foot and entire lower body in a neutral position.

Together, stronger muscles and optimal alignment allow your joints to absorb shock properly and propel your body forward as you move through life.

Common problems that we see include:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Knee pain
