Level 1 Yoga at Andersonville Physical Therapy
Where: 5414 N. Broadway St.
Time: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Instructor: Beth Barr
Level 1 highlights fundamental Yoga poses to help you build strength and mobility. You will be guided through yogic breathing techniques and relaxation for a well-rounded practice that balances effort and ease. Props and modifications will be provided so that you can find the best version of each pose for you. First-come, first-served space is limited, so be sure to arrive early to grab a spot! Please note that group yoga class is not a substitute for individualized medical care. If you have pain that limits your mobility, consider getting a referral for physical therapy, and we’d be happy to incorporate yoga into your treatment.
About the Instructor: Originally from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Beth first stepped into a yoga class at Indiana University. Initially looking for a complement to marathon running, her yoga practice provided more than a good stretch. Yoga provided gifts of balance, peace, and awareness to handle life’s challenges. Beth has been a student of yoga since 2003 and completed Bloom Yoga Studio’s 200-hour teacher training program in 2015. Beth wants her students to have a challenging but safe physical practice and also experience the quietness of the mind that drew her to the yoga mat.
Mats and props will be provided for you, along with mat cleaner so that you can clean your mat for the next user. Please plan to come a few minutes early to set up for class and stay a few minutes after to clean up. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Barefoot is best, but if your toes get cold, socks that have grips on the soles are ideal to prevent slipping.
